Millie Donaldson is an established writer, having completed her Bachelor’s degree in Screenwriting from the Victorian College of The Arts with first class honours. She has worked in the writer’s room for several unreleased Werner Film productions as well as providing disability consultation during the development of Sophie Hyde’s upcoming feature, An Ideal Wife. She continues to be mentored by Joel Anderson (Lake Mungo, Late Night With The Devil) and Robert Connolly (The Dry, Blueback). She was a series regular in the Netflix mini-series Boy Swallows Universe and played Laura Wingfield in the Melbourne Theatre Company’s production of The Glass Menagerie. Her screenplay for Cactus has received recognition from several screenplay competitions including being a top 5 finalist of the BlueCat competition, a second rounder in the Austin Film Festival Competition, and a high rating on The Blacklist. Her other writing has received a commendation from the National Theatre new work panel and has been long listed for the Patrick White Playwriting Award. Her short film, When You Hear Hoofbeats, premiered at the Sydney Film Festival and received funding from The Australian Cultural Fund. The short will have its UK premiere at The Leeds Film Festival.
